First Loose Tooth

My boy has been really anxious and excited to lose his first tooth.  A lot of the kids in his class already lost their first tooth and he was feeling a little left out.  We had a dentist appointment this past week and neither of us realized that he had a loose tooth.  My boy was so excited.  Now it is a few days later and the tooth is really loose.  The anxiety of loosing a tooth has set in.  He is worried he is going to swallow the tooth and he is worried about the blood.  It is super wiggly too so I think it is getting a little annoying.  He keeps asking me to check to see if it is still in.  Has this been a traumatic experience for your child(ten)?  I am sure it is a scary prospect for a lot of children.  It is also a reminder that my boy is most definitely growing up (whether I like it or not).

  1. My daughter came up to me tonight and said her tooth hurt. I touched it and it wiggled. She's excited. I'm the one freaking out. LOL.

  4. I don't remember the trauma unless the tooth fairy forgot to take the tooth!

  6. My son is nearly 7 years old and has not lost a tooth yet. I am a little concerned because of his autism he has never been to a dentist...his teeth are perfect anyway...just worried he doesn't have any underneath...lol. My husband never lost 3 or 4 of his baby teeth.

  7. @Rayray We were concerned for my oldest because my husband had to have his teeth pulled when he was younger. They said at the Dentist it can be as late as 9 years old.
